2015년도 한국학 분야 우수 논문 공모

 

한국학중앙연구원 한국학대학원에서는 해외에 거주하는 외국인 및 재외국민 학생을 대상으로 한국학 관련 우수
논문을 공모․선정하여 상금을 지급함으로써 한국학에 대한 관심을 유도하고, 한국학자로서 성장할 수 있는 계기를 제공하고자 합니다. 관심있는
분들의 많은 지원 바랍니다.

 

1. 신청 자격

  접수마감일을 기준으로 다음 조건을 모두 만족하는 자

  가. 외국인 또는 외국에서 대한민국의 초․중․고등학교 및
대학 교육에 상응하는 교육과정을 이수한 재외국민

  나. 해외 대학의 석사 및 박사 과정 재학생. 단, 학사와 석사 과정 사이에 Honours 과정이 존재하는 일부 국가의 경우 Honours 과정 재학생도 지원 가능함.

  다. 해외 거주자

  라. 연구 주제가 한국학과 관련있는 자

  ※ 기존 우수상 수상자는 지원 불가

 

2. 공모 논문

  가. 한국학과 관련된 주제의,
기존에 출판되지 않은 논문이어야 함.

  나. 한글 또는 영어로 작성하여 아래 한글 또는 MS-Word 파일로 제출하여야 함.

  다. 한글로 작성시 글자수(공백포함) 20,000자 (200자 원고지 100매) 내외, 영어로 작성시 단어수 6,000자 내외여야 함(참고문헌 제외).

    ◦ 원본을 우편으로 제출하거나 스캔하여
이메일로 제출

    ◦ 한글 또는 영어 이외의 언어로 작성된
경우 공증을 받은 번역본을 첨부하여야 함.

  라. 추천서 1부

    ◦ 출신 학교의 지도교수 또는 학과장이
한글 또는 영어로 작성

    ◦ 제출 논문 및 지원자의 업적·한국학
발전에의 기여 가능성 등에 대하여 평가

    ◦ 추천인이 작성 후 봉인(밀봉한 자리에 서명 또는 날인)하여 우편으로 제출하거나, 추천인이 직접 이메일로 제출

  마. 해당 국가의 국적자임을 입증할 수 있는 증명서(여권 사본 등)

  

6. 제출 방법 : 이메일 및 우편 접수

  ◦ 제반 서류(파일 또는 스캔본)를 이메일로 제출하되, 재학증명서 및 추천서 원본은 우편으로 접수하여도 됨.

7. 기타

  가. 상금은 수상자에게 직접 지급함.

  나. 해외 계좌 송금 수수료 등 상금 지급시 발생되는 비용은
수상자가 부담함.

  다. 우수 논문으로 선정된 논문이 표절 등 연구윤리 위반 사실이
발견될 경우 수상을 취소하고 장려금을 환수함.

2015 AKS Research Paper Contest for Korean
Studies

 

The AKS Research Paper Contest for
Korean Studies was designed to promote interests in Koreanstudies among
international students and to give them momentum to further enhance their
research in the field. We look forward to receiving many qualified research
papers or theses. 

 

1. Eligibility of Applicant

 

Nationality :

Applicants must meet one of the following
conditions :

①Both the applicant and his/her parents are
foreign nationals.

②The applicant, either a foreign national
or a Korean national who obtained permanent residency in a foreign country or
who resides overseas, has completed education outside of Korea which is
compatible with Korea's elementary, middle, high school and college education.

 

Educational Background:

As of the application deadline, applicants
must be enrolled in a master's or a doctoral degree program (or an Honours
degree program in some countries where students are required to complete it
after obtaining a bachelor's degree in order to be eligible to apply for a
master's degree program) at an overseas university.

 

Residence: As
of the application deadline, applicants must reside in a foreign country
outside of Korea.

Research Topic: An applicant's research topic should pertain to Korea/Korean
studies.

※ Please note that applications of previous
first-prize winners are not accepted.

 

2. Subject & Length of Thesis

A. The paper should be an unpublished
original work in any field of Korean studies.

B. The thesis should be written in Korean
or in English and sent in a Hangul(.hwp) or MS-Word(.doc) format.

C. When written in Korean, the paper should
be around 20,000 letters (including spaces) in length, while in English, around
6,000 words, excluding the bibliography.

4. Schedule

B. The selection result will be announced
in mid December at the AKS website (intl.aks.ac.kr/english) - Notice, and the
prize money will be wired in late December.

C. Certificate of Enrollment

◦ Applicants should send either an original copy by
post or a scanned copy by email.

◦ If the document is written in a language other
than Korean or English, it must be translated into and then notarized either in
Korean or in English.

D. A Letter of Recommendation

◦ The recommender must be either an applicant's
academic advisor or dean of the department in his/her undergraduate/graduate
school.

◦ The letter must be written in Korean or in
English.

◦ The recommender is advised to comment on the
thesis to be submitted as well as the applicant's academic performance and
potential.

◦ After completing the letter, the recommender
should put it in a sealed envelope and send it by post. Alternatively, the
recommender can email the letter directly to the GSKS.

E. A copy of the first two pages of the
applicant's passport

 

6. Submission Guideline

◦ Send the required documents (soft copies or
scanned documents) via email to gradaks@aks.ac.kr.

◦ Original copies of the certificate of enrollment
and a letter of recommendation can be additionally sent by post to the

7. Notes

A. The prize money will be wired to the
bank accounts of successful applicants.

B. Any costs incurred when transferring the
money will be at the applicant's expense.

C. Plagiarism or any kind of breach of
research ethic may result in cancellation of the prize and the redemption of
the prize money.
